WebYes a real remote and purpose-built HTPC is better but an immediate free download is cheaper and faster than paying for a mail order remote. Judging by the few responses on the thread, there aren't a lot of people on this forum who use old tech for that purpose. I'll check out the Flirc when I make a decision on HTPC hard.
